While I was in Dubai I took some HDR photos of Burj Dubai. These photos where taken from Index’ 61st floor, a sky scraper that is currently being built next to Burj Dubai.

Shawshara.com is my latest community-based project that brings everything about Arabic music to the Web. Shawshara.com went online on February 28, 2008. Shawshara.com is Wikipedia style project dedicated to Arabic music. With everybody’s help Shawshara.com will become your goto Website for all your Arabic music needs including: artist biography, discography, music videos, lyrics and lyrics translation. As for the name, Shawshara is Arabic for noise or static. We hope that the site will make some noise on the Internet.

Google is a behemoth. I took on the task of creating a diagram that represents Google and all of its Web sites, services and software. I ended up with a Google that consists of 43 components meshing and crossing nine different categories: search, productivity, advertising, publishing, Internet tools, software bundle, portal and social network. No work is perfect and Google is surely not going to freeze this image anytime soon, so I have included the diagram’s original source in png format for anyone to modify/edit. A photo of smoggy Dubai is used as a background in a Flash advertisement on Cbs.com to promote Honda’s environment friendly Civic GX. Dubai is considered by some to be the Las Vegas of the Middle East, but when it comes to smog it’s the Los Angeles of the Middle East.
